In New Jersey, patients are allowed to receive physical therapy initial evaluation and treatments for 30days without a referral or prescription. Physical therapist are required to refer to license healthcare professional if reasonable progress is not achieved within 30days, or if the condition require services outside of physical therapy scope of practice.
